Take the Guess Work Out of Natural Hair Care. ~ Facts and, "Not So" Common Sense to Longer, Thicker, Healthier Hair.
Hey hey how you doing did you know there's other ways to clean your hair in the mass-produced marketing campaign branding hypnosis were in it sometimes almost feels like we have to unlearn and relearn not saying that organic store-bought shampoos aren't good but in order to be an informed consumer you have to be
Knowledgeable about your options one thing to unlearn is that in order to clean your hair the product has to produce tons of lather and foam clay is a really good example of this clay is like bentonite and rasool' can clean your hair really well even if it's super
Dirty and it does not produce any leather or foam here's a link to some interesting videos on how clay works to clean your hair there are all sorts of herbs plants and fruits that can clean your hair and scalp shikaka is just one example Chi Chi Chi
Or soap pod or coaching or sheikah or GK or sigue just to name a few has been used to clean and treat hair for thousands of years its scientific name is acacia con sina it's a short bushy fern like tree with tiny tiny leaves and sharp thorns
It's hair cleansing abilities are in all parts of the tree but rather than chopping down a whole tree it's usually the fruit that's used it's not the typical soft and sweet type are used to eating the shikaka fruits more like a legume so how does this clean your hair
It's all because of a chemical called happenin chi Chi Chi cleans your hair in two ways There are different types and different strengths of sappin but overall a saben and molecule has a polar or water-loving side and a non-polar or oil loving side the oil loving side creates a bond with the oily build-up in your hair and the water loving side creates a bond with
The water you use to wash it out fun fact did you know sap Ihnen is considered a toxin no worries though only in large concentrated amounts in fact low amounts of saben occurs naturally in all sorts of vegetables legumes and herbs so the SAP Ihnen and shiki chi is only toxic to smaller
Creatures like bacteria fungus and yeast plants that contain SAP Ihnen life shikaku use it to protect themselves against infection when you apply XI Chi Chi on your hair and scalp it also corners by acting as an antibacterial antifungal and antioxidant interesting combination of acids minerals and vitamins this unique
Combination gives it even more great benefits as expected there are different ways to use shikaka to clean your hair so in order to give you as much information as possible I'm gonna do a little experiment while yushik ika on one half of my head and shake Heike
Paste on the other side Shiki eyes should be used as a shampoo so for both methods I'm just going to mix it with plain old distilled water so I know I'm only observing how well shikaka cleans my hair and how it makes it feel let's make the paste first the measurements
Are not strict at all it's really up to you I'm using about 4 tablespoons of Chi Chi Chi powder add hot water little by little until you get the consistency you like my hair is really dense and these powders can be difficult to rinse out so
I like for my pace to be a little more liquidy keep it covered until you're ready to use it so it doesn't dry out for the tea I'm mixing about three tablespoons of Chicago powder with about two cups of hot water make sure to mix
It around and break up the chunks let it sit for a few minutes filter out the powder and add it to an application bottle so it's easier to use like always it's best to first apply it on your scalp and take some time to massage it in before coating your shaft
And your ends to avoid tangles I put my hair in two twists and let it sit for a few minutes with a shower cap before I rinse it out on both sides my hair and scalp definitely felt clean so there's no denying that she Chi Chi works when I
Was rinsing off the paste and tea I noticed it was a lot easier for me to separate tangles and my hair strands felt nice and strong like they could withstand in one but at least for those with textured natural hair you definitely have to follow this up with a
Conditioner I personally prefer the tea over the pace mainly because the pace is a headache to rinse out the tea is just as effective and a lot easier to deal with it doesn't create a mess and you can use it in the shower just like you would a regular shampoo last week I
Posted a video about Amla if you haven't seen it already here's a link you can use both Amla and shikaku but for me I rather use them separately so chic hike is a shampoo step and Amla as the conditioner step but it's not written in stone so feel free to explore you can
Also add all types of other ingredients like oils essential oils and herbs to your psychic I mixture there are tons of different recipes you can find online I'm curious let me know below what your complete type is here's mine and if you've used sheik i guy before share your recipe
Below and how it makes your hair feel afterwards i hope you learned something new as always thanks for watching see you in the next video
source
I hope you know your complete hair type
Heres mine:
Curl pattern – I, S, O, L
Texture – TIGHT
Density – DENSE
Thickness THICK
Sebum – MEDIUM-HIGH
Porosity – BALANCED to LOW
Due to my density its impossible to wash out the paste version of these powders from my hair. Shikakai worked well in cleaning my hair but, it dried it out so I had to follow it up with a deep conditioning.
thank you for this video? what is the PH level for this mixture? is it acidic or alkaline?
I am a low p hair I never us shikakai before
Awesome! Well i buy whole reetha and shikakai soak them overnight and then boil them in a cooker then mish mash it and strain. Powder gets sticky sometimes leaving behind remnants. Tea is a good option though!
Do any of you use Bentonite clay as a cleanser and do not use any shampoo after to rinse it out? Otherwise I feel lime the clay would not leave my hair without a lot of manipulation. I do not know if I just need to be more patient
This recipe is amazing! My family and I use it all the time. I sell a powdered version off all these ingredients mixed and ground to make your life easier! We are a Canadian based company but ship internationally as well. Check us out on IG @shikacare!
You are super CREATIVE!! Love 💕 ya girl.
Pronounced
SHI- KA- KAI
Can it be stored ???
I wonder if I can add shikakai to my natural shampoo ?
I think the traditional recipe is equal parts of Shikakai, Amla, and Ritha.
Hello, shikakai clean my hair well but not my scalp, I have a lot of sebum build up after using shikakai, what can I do ?
When I use shakiki I use it with Reetha (neem & hibiscus powder is good to add). Mix in warmer water or a tea made from green tea & tulsi & whip it until it’s frothy & bubbly. You can see the bubbles. Then I let it sit for a while & then drain it into a bottle. I sometimes add oils & Castile soap made from almond oil for a clarifying wash.
Can you do a video on ambunu?
Can this be used on locks?
shikaikai is the only shampoo that heals my scalp of chronic itchiness and tangles. saved my hair’s life!
Proud to be an indian who knows about all ayurvedic herbs. We use natural shampoo of amla shikakai and reetha. Its amazing.
the shikakai tea, is it soapy?
is it ok to use shikakai instead of shampoo even when my scalp is really dirty?
I use shikakai in my natural diy shampoo: i use the saponificationmethod to create soap and i add shikakai and sidr:) best softening detangling shampoo ever 🙂
But it doesn't wash away more oil that I use outwardly….it makes my hair dry and rough..
Can u please continue the ayurvedic serie? It is awesome!! Like cassia, henna, bhringharaj, hibiscus… 🙂
There is no letter "i" after the first "a" in the word as you are pronouncing it "shi-kai-kai." It is pronounced more like "cock-eye" but with the short "a" sound instead of the "o." "shi-cock-eye" "shi-ka-kai" My intent is just to be helpful, not disrespectful. Personally, I like to know if I mispronounce words, and though most people feel the same way, there are those that take offense, so do with it as you will. You have a very nice speaking voice, and the video is very informative and very well done! I appreciate the care and time that it takes to make a quality video that stays on topic and not filled with an abundance of promotional rhetoric, I truly do!
Shikakai powder avaiable https://youtu.be/_wxDgo9-Pps
It made my hair feel very clean and a little dry
She-ka-kai
Love you channel. Where can one buy Shikakai powder? Can you tell us what to look for to make sure we’re buying the real deal. Thanks in advance
what a fabulous video. You've put in a lot of work the info is good and interesting 🙂 In terms of smell or scent, how strong is the shikakai tea/paste? pleasant or unpleasant smell? What about the amla?
does shikakai have protein? i use natural protein treatment monthly so if it has protein i'll stop using my treatment to avoid buildup
I use soap nuts/reetha with shikakai, I rinse the whole pods in water for 1-2 days and later just squeeze them, you will see lot of lather in the water. Strain it and wash your hair.
Oh boy i just washes with shikakai but it was a paste not enough for my lengths . Even when made woth rosewater, my hair felt dry and i used it as a mask for 20minuted with the aluminium cap. Which i wont be using cause it dripped into my eye. Owww.
So next time ill use the tea method .
But should we mix with some hydrating ingredients cause the length we can use conditioner /mask afterwards but it feels dry even at the scalp area….
Even though I'm a Indian I'm scared to use shikakai because of modern influencers now I'm going back to my ancestors way
Would the tea recipe be same for other herbs like i wanted to to purslane or alma ?
